Raila Skips Wetangula Presidential launch at Muliro Gardens Kakamega

The presidential launch by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula at Muliro Gardens Kakamega was initially marred by confusion after the police teargassed the dias where dignitaries were.

Two people were seriously injured after a stampede ensued while people were scampering for safety following the lobbying of the teargas.
Ford K supporters had earlier tore and burnt ODM t-shirts and caps in protest that the ceremony was their party affair.

It was evident that chaos would erupt between Ford Kenya supporters and ODM supporters and this is allegedly what prompted Raila to skip the event.

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero had initially appeared but after the teargas incident, he was whisked away never to return.

Meanwhile Wiper Democratic Movement Leader Kalonzo Musyoka linked the teargas incident to attempts by Jubilee Coaliton to disorient the CORD fraternity by making it hard for its principals to speak to the people.

“I want to tell the Jubilee shame on you. How dare you lob teargas at a very peaceful event like this? How shameless are you to teargas old and respected men like Burudi Nabwera?,”Kalonzo posed.

Leaders present including Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar hinted that they will be back again at Muliro Gardens to launch Senator Bonny Khalwales bid to be the Kakamega Governor come 2017 general elections. Hassan Omar has also hinted that he will challenge the current Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho at the ballot for Mombasa County Gubernatorial position.

Hassan Omar tried to woo Amani coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi to rejoin the CORD Colaition or risk sinking his political ambitions to oblivion.

Other leaders present were; Janet Ongera, Transzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba, George Aladwa, Richard Onyonka, Abdala Mwashetani, Chris Wamalwa, Eseli Simiyu; Awiti Bolo among others.
