The Kenya Defence Forces Technical Training College has been in existence since 1964 when it was initially known as Ground Training School and later Kenya Air Force Training Unit (KAFTU) in the early 1980s.
DEFTEC offers training of technical manpower for the Kenya Defence force and friendly forces.
DEFTEC has an MOU with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology to offer Bachelors degrees and Diplomas in Information Technology.
Today the College has over 300 teaching and support staff and an average student population of 500 who are at various stages of technical training.
