Al-Maktoum Foundation was established in 1997 by order of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance, President of Dubai Health Authority and Patron of Al Maktoum Foundation.
The Foundation operates Sheikha Maitha bint Rashid Al Maktoum Center for Special Needs in Dubai, the educational and cultural institutions in Europe and over 40 Schools in Africa and support to many educational and charitable institutions in the UAE and internationally.
The Foundation gets its funds from Zakat, Charity and contributions sent through H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum. The main objective of the organization is to lead the fight against illiteracy, diseases and poverty among the community it works with.
