Major Fallout between RAILA ODINGA and SK Macharia of Royal Media Services.
Royal Media Service (RMS) chairman, SK Macharia, has reportedly sent an internal memo to all senior managers of his FM stations and TV stations warning them against giving opposition leaders a platform to insult President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto.
According to sources, Macharia also told all managers not to allow any opposition leader to spit venom in his stations saying he wants his stations to perform a role of uniting Kenyans instead of dividing them.
Macharia, who owns a dozen of vernacular FM stations in Kenya, also urged his reporters to report news that are of national importance and avoid news that divide Kenyans along tribal lines.
Following this directive, Machakos Senator, Johnstone Muthama, who is known for spitting venom on TV, was ejected from a live radio interview on Thursday after he insulted President Uhuru Kenyatta and Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua.
CORD leaders have now threatened to boycott interviews with Citizen TV because of the humiliation Muthama faced in Kilimani.
