March 2023: KUCCPS has opened announced that it has opened its portal to allow all the 2022 KCSE examination candidates to revise their university and college Course choices from May 20 2023 to June 2 2023.
This will allow all the eligible 144,466 candidates who scored C+ and above in the 2022 KCSE examination to apply for degree courses in the 70 universities in Kenya.
The other 671,415 candidates who scored between C- and E are also encouraged to apply for courses in TVET and Teacher Training Colleges.
The minimum entry requirement for
- Diploma Courses is C – (minus)
- Craft certificate courses is D (plain)
- Artisan certificate courses is E.
Past candidates who sat for KCSE between the years 2000 and 2021 and scored C (plain) and above are eligible to apply for placement to the primary TTCs.
Also, Kibabii Diploma Teachers Training College, Lugari Diploma Teachers Training College and Kagumo Diploma Teachers Training College will admit students through KUCCPS under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) system. Only those who apply through the KUCCPS portal will be considered for government sponsorship.

KUCCPS Revision of Courses 2023 Deadline
The deadline for the above Revision of Choices for placement in universities and colleges is 2nd June 2022.
July 16, 2021: KUCCPS has opened its portal for the Third and Final Revision of Choices for Placement to Universities and Colleges. This is to give a final chance to the following students;
- KCSE 2021 candidates who applied for courses but have not secured any of their choices due to competition
- Candidates with C + and above from the KCSE class of 2021 who have not yet made any application for degree or TVET courses;
- All candidates who scored between C plain and E from the year 2000 to 2020 and have not benefitted from government sponsorship to any TVET institution
KUCCPS Second Revision of Courses 2023
June 22 2021: KUCCPS has opened the course application portal for the second revision of course choices 2022/2023. This application is for the government-sponsored placement to universities and colleges.
Those being targeted are
- The 10,707 candidates who got C+ and above from the KCSE class of 2020 but did not apply for any degree course.
- Candidates who failed to secure a degree course due to competition in the recent first revision period.
- All candidates, from the year 2000 to 2020, who scored between C plain and E and have not applied for TVET courses.
How do I know if I have not secured a course?
Check for your KCSE index number in THIS LIST. If it is there, log in to the KUCCPS Student’s Portal and submit a new application for your preferred choice of course.

KUCCPS First Revision of Courses 2021
May 24, 2021: KUCCPS has announced the KUCCPS First Revision of Courses 2021 for University and College Placement for Government Sponsorship
All the candidates who sat for KCSE exam in 2020 and also other Kenyan youth are invited to apply for government sponsorship to universities and colleges.
The targeted people are the 2020 KCSE class and other eligible people who sat for KCSE from the year 2000 to 2019 and who have never before been placed by KUCCPS. They are required to apply for degree, diploma, craft certificate and artisan courses.
But the sponsorship for degree course in university will only be available to the 2020 KCSE class graduates.
KUCCPS Second Revision of Courses 2021 Deadline
KUCCPS opened the online application system on May 24, 2021 and the deadline for the revision is set on June 11, 2021.
The KCSE 2020 candidates who, while at school, had selected their desired courses, should now revise their choices to align them with their passion, interest and exam performance. Those who did not get a chance to apply while in school are now invited to choose their desired courses.

KUCCPS Second Revision of Courses 2021 Guidelines
Applicants must submit their Applications through the KUCCPS Student’s Portal, which may also be submitted through the Placement Service App, KUCCPS STUDENTS, which is available for download on Play Store.
More information including detailed application guidelines, institutions, available programmes, minimum subject requirements and previous cut-off points are available on the Portal.
Applications should be submitted online from any location through mobile phones, tablets and computers connected to the Internet. Applicants are advised to observe the deadline as late applications will not be accepted.
During the application/revision period, KUCCPS will send officers to different institutions across the country to support applicants who may experience challenges. The list of the institutions will be published on the KUCCPS website www.kuccps.ac.ke.

KUCCPS Second Revision of Courses Deadline
Kuccps has extended the deadline for the second revision of course choices to Friday, April 17 2020 at 12 noon. This extension has been availed to enable any applicant who in the last days of the application, may have experienced a hitch to complete the revision process. KUCCPS says the connectivity issue that had occurred has been resolved.
KUCCPS Second Revision of Course Choices 2021
KUCCPS has announced the second Revision of Courses 2021 degree, diploma and certificate choices online application that will begin on Thursday, April 2, 2020 until Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
This KUCCPS Revision of Courses 2020 has been availed for the applicants who did not secure any of their choices in the First Revision for placement to universities and colleges. Also, the students who did not apply while still in secondary schools should use this opportunity to submit their applications.
To view the KCSE index numbers of the eligible applicants Follow This Link. Principals are advised to view this list and inform their former students (if their names appear there) to perform this important KUCCPS Revision of Courses 2020.
The applicants should select afresh and submit new choices for the degree, diploma and craft/artisan certificate courses where there are unfilled capacities, which are also listed on the website.
If your name doesn’t appear in the list above, it means that you have already secured placement from one of your choices in the first Application and therefore you do not need to reapply.
KUCCPS Second Revision of Courses 2019
March 15, 2019: KUCCPS has finished processing the applications from the first round of KUCCPS First Revision of Courses 2019/2020. During this first round of processing, 22,957 candidates out of the eligible 90,744 for placement to degree courses did not competitively get selected to any of their choices.
KUCCPS therefore invites these unsuccessiful candidates for KUCCPS Second Revision of Courses 2019. The index numbers of these unsuccessful candidates are listed here
This Second revision of course choices will be done online from March 15, 2019 to March 22, 2019.
The canditates will be required to choose programmes from those that did not fill their capacities after the KUCCPS First Revision of Courses. The Courses that thave not filled their capacities have been published in the KUCCPS Student Portal.
For the students whose index numbers do not appear in the list of unplaced students, means they have secures one of their choices and will be informed of the same after the KUCCPS Second Revision of Courses 2019 is over.
During this KUCCPS Second Revision of Courses 2019, candidates from previous years who did not get a chance to access the tertiary training and may be interested in applying for Artisan, Certificate and Diploma Courses can take advantage of this opportunity and apply.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service wishes to announce that the KUCCPS Second Revision of Courses 2019 online application system opens for the second revision of degree, diploma and certificate choices on Thursday, March 1, 2019 and will close on Monday, March 12, 2019.
This KUCCPS Second Revision of Courses 2018 application is open for the 2017 KCSE candidates and those from previous years who, on competitive selection after the first revision of choices, have not secured any of their choices.

Candidates should only apply for the degree, diploma and certificate programmes with unfilled capacities, which are listed in the website.
Applicants whose index numbers do not appear in the website have already provisionally secured one of their choices, subject to approval by the Placement Board, and will be communicated to at the end of the placement process.
Candidates who had paid the placement processing fee during school application and first revision will NOT be required to pay for the second revision.
Those who did not apply during the School Application or First Revision of Choices may use this opportunity to submit their applications. In addition, candidates who attained a mean grade of D plain and above or C – and above and did not qualify for Government sponsorship in the previous years may apply for certificate and diploma courses respectively.

KUCCPS First Revision of Courses for Degree and Diploma Courses for 2018 Placement
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service wishes to announce the KUCCPS First Revision of Courses 2018.
After considering the total available vacancies and capacities in the public and private universities in Kenya for degree programmes under Government sponsorship, and after analyzing the 2017 KCSE examination results, KUCCPS Board has set the cut-off point for placement to Degree programmes at the minimum aggregate of C+ (46 points).
KUCCPS Board also approved that all candidates who have attained a minimum aggregate grade of C- of 32 points may apply to be placed into Diploma programmes under Government sponsorship.
All candidates who scored a mean grade of D of 18 points and above shall be eligible for placement to craft certificate courses offered in tertiary institutions.
The candidates who attained the approved minimum aggregate of C+ (46 points) cut-off points can access the KUCCPS Students Portal for the KUCCPS First Revision of Courses online application from Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 0000 hours and close on February 14, 2018 at midnight.
Candidates who did not apply for placement through their schools may use this opportunity to submit their choices.
Candidates who sat for their KCSE examination earlier than 2017 are only eligible for placement to Diploma and Certificate courses.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service KUCCPS wishes to announce that the online application system opens for the Second and Final KUCCPS Revision of Courses on Thursday June 9, 2016 at 0000hrs and will close on Saturday June 18, 2016 at midnight.
Candidates First KUCCPS Revision of Courses for Degree and Diploma Choices for the 2016 Placement
KUCCPS set the Cut-off point for placement to Degree programmes at B of 60 points for male candidates and B- of 58 points for female candidates. This translates to a total number of 74,389 for the 2015 K.C.S.E candidates who will join Universities in 2016/2017 up from 67,790 in 2015/2016.
In addition 50,338 will have an opportunity to access government sponsorship at Diploma colleges (Technical Vocational Education Training) in 2016/2017 up from 44,468 in 2015/2016.
The KUCCPS Revision of Courses online application system will open for the first revision of Degree and Diploma choices for the 2016/2017 placement to Universities and Colleges on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 0000 hours and will close on Saturday April 30, 2016 at midnight.
The Step by Step Procedure for Completing the KUCCPS Revision of Courses
To perform KUCCPS Revision of Courses, you will need to login to your KUCCPS Student Portal, then click on the link titled APPLICATION / REVISION to perform the revision.
- Enter the Programme codes for the revised programme choices that you recorded on the column ‘new programme code.
- You can click on the button labeled “Check requirements” to find out your eligibility for a set of selected programmes.
- Tick on the select to ‘change/revise’ column.
- The choices you have made will be displayed if you have completed the form without errors.
- If you find errors indicated in red, correct and save again.
- The submit button will appear if you have qualified and met all the minimum requirements for the courses you have selected.
- An MPESA transaction code will be required of you if you are a first time applicant, so first make the payment through MPESA then input in the Mpesa transaction code to confirm your payment.
Logging out of your KUCCPS Student Portal when you have finalized with the KUCCPS Revision of Courses is very important so as to keep your application information safe.
