He attended Kwang’amor Primary School in Amukura Division between 1972 and 1978 and later proceeded to St. Paul’s Amukura High School for both Ordinary and Advanced level Secondary Education.

In 1979 to 1983, Ojaamong attended his O-level education and later advanced his A-level education in the same School in 1984 to 1985.

He qualified to Join Kenyatta University where he graduated with Bachelor of Education (Science) degree, majoring in Biology and Chemistry.

Governor Ojaamong also has post graduate diploma in Business Management from the Kenya Institute of Management.

Sospeter Odeke Ojaamong Life/Job History

Sospeter Ojaamong started his career by serving in a humble position of untrained teacher at Obucuun Primary School before joining the University.

After graduating with his B.Ed Science degree from Kenyatta University, Ojaamong was posted to Moding Secondary School in Teso North where he taught for three years as from 1990 to 1992. During this period, his good work earned him a promotion to the position of Deputy Principal.

He served as Deputy Principal for one year after which he resigned to join politics in the general elections of 1992.

Having not succeeded in his first debut in politics, Ojaamong later worked in a city law firm as an Administrator between 1993 and 1994.
Because of their long held association and friendship, as well as the trust cultivated over time, Ojaamong was in 1994 requested by the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to serve as his personal assistant a position he held for eight years until 2002.

He contested for the Amagoro Parliamentary seat again in 2002 and emerged the winner. He joined parliament where he successfully served for five years.
During the 2007 general elections, Ojaamong defended his seat and was re-elected to serve for another five year term. In 2008 he was appointed an Assistant Minister for Labour in the Grand Coalition Government.
