David Kiaraho Differs with Nyandarua Governor Waithaka Mwangi
In August 2014, Governor Waithaka Mwangi and Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho differed over the county development boards.
Kiaraho supported the creation of the boards, which are to be chaired by senators, but Mwangi was against them.
The governor said they are an attempt at stifling democracy and killing devolution. The two leaders were speaking on Sunday during a funds drive at PCEA Kamande Church in Kaimbaga ward, Ol Kalou subcounty.
Kiaraho said governors should accept the new move as it will ensure transparency in the distribution of resources.
He said the boards will make all leaders accountable to the public.
“I support this law and I will feel greatly honoured if my governor, who is here, breaks ranks with his colleagues and supports the new law,” Kiaraho said.
Mwangi said senators were elected to make laws and not to watch over the county executive.
