Coffee Technology and Quality Management Minimum Course Entry Requirements:
– KCSE minimum grade of C- (Minus) with D Plain in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, English. OR
– Division III in EACE/KCE.
Mode of Study: Full time, weekend, evening.
Stage 1: Coffee Technology and Quality Management
This stage takes a total of six months including attachment. The graduates are awarded the KUCT certificate in Coffee Technology and Quality Management. They acquire appropriate knowledge and skills for application in the national and regional coffee industry.
Stage 2: Coffee Technology and Cupping
This stage takes a total of twelve months including attachment. The graduates are awarded the KUCT Diploma in Coffee Technology and Cupping.
The graduates are encouraged to undertake professional examinations offered jointly by Coffee Board of Kenya, Kenya Coffee Producers and Traders Association (KCPTA), Kenya Coffee Traders Association (KCTA) and Coffee Research Foundation, as well as examinations for certification as Q-graders and Star cuppers offered by the International Coffee Quality Institute (CQI).
