According to an official from the US Embassy who requested anonymity, US Ambassador to Kenya, Robert Godec, in his weekly briefing to his to Obama, he told the US President about Raila and ODM’s sentiments about bloodshed in 2017.

“He was terribly shocked to hear Raila Odinga support a person who called for killings in 2017,” the official said.

Raila shocked Kenyans last week when he supported former Nairobi Mayor, George Aladwa’s sentiments that some few Kenyans must be butchered in 2017 for Raila to be President.

“2017 imekaribia na sisi kama watu wa ODM tumebaki na risasi moja. This time round the outcome of the elections ikiwa tumeshinda na watunyang’anye wacha kiumane…Raila ndio awe President lazima watu wakufe kiasi.” Aladwa said in Kibera during Mashujaa Day.

Raila supported Aladwa and said that his remarks were a warning to thieves who were planning to steal the 2017 elections.
