Nana Gecaga – Uhuru Kenyatta niece appointed the Acting KICC MD

Nana Gecaga who is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s niece has been appointed the acting MD of KICC by Tourism CS Najib Balala.

Nana’s appointment took effect from Friday 1st April, 2015. She is the sister to Uhuru’s personal assistant Jomo Gecaga.

CS Najib Balala said that she will remain in that position until the position is competitively filled.

Nana owns the Bora Ubora PR firm which has currently been getting a good chunk of government deals. In 2009, Nana was instrumental in securing the MTV Africa Music Awards that earned Kenya a lot of fame locally and internationally.

Nana Gecaga has worked as Balala’s marketing and special programmes advisor, having been seconded from the KICC where she worked as head of marketing.

She has also worked with international firms on various projects and was involved in bringing international celebrities to Kenya to showcase products including conference tourism.

She has a degree in marketing from the American InterContinental University, London, and a wealth of experience in PR and marketing.
