Hezron Awiti Bollo was born in Mombasa county. His ancestral village is in Kendu Bay in Homa Bay County.
Hezron Awiti Bollo is the first time MP for Nyali Constituency in Mombasa County. He was elected on a Wiper Democratic Movement Party ticket in the CORD Coalition.
In the National Assembly he is a member of Departmental Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operatives and also a member of Departmental Committee on Lands and Natural Resources.
Hezron Awiti Bollo is a Belgium trained logistics manager has been in the freight and forwarding industry for over twenty five years. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Habo Group of Companies, the Company he founded in 1995 in Mombasa Kenya.
He also owns Metal Refinery EPZ Limited, a lead smelting company in Owino Uhuru Village in Momsasa, whose waste has allegedly killed dozens of people in the area.
Hezron Awiti is also the Chairman of Kenya International Freighter Warehousing Association.
Hezron Awiti Bollo political career
Hezron Awiti was elected for the first time in Parliament in 2013 as the MP for Nyali Constituency in Mombasa County. He was elected on a Wiper Democratic Movement Party ticket in the CORD Coalition. He was blocked from running on ODM ticket after won the ODM ticket but was not denied the ticket because some people thought he stood no chance against a coastal candidate on other tickets. He won the seat with a convincing majority despite the fact that majority of the voters there were not Luo.
Hezron Awiti has declared that he will challenge Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho for the gubernatorial seat in 2017 on a Wiper ticket.
This did not go down well with Ali Hassan Joho’s foot soldiers who like Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba told Awiti to drop his ambitions to be governor as he is not fit to lead the county. Rashid added that It is better for Awiti to stay in Parliament where we can legislate and not in Mombasa County high political waters which he cannot swim through.
Hezron Awiti Bollo appeared in a list of the laziest MPs of the National Assembly who did not speak in 2015.
On a positive note January 11, 2014 Hezron Awiti Bollo brokered negotiations between ten landlords and about 90,000 squatters in Nyali with the aim of selling their land to them.
