Floriculture Entry Requirements
Applicants eligible for this programme shall have at least one of the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Holders of Kenya certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) aggregate of C-  with C-  pass in both Biological Sciences and Mathematics.
  2. Holders of Kenya certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with 3 years of demonstrated working experience in floriculture and related discipline.
  3. Holders of Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) Division III with pass in Biological Sciences and Mathematics.
  4. Holders of a diploma or degree from a recognized institution

Course Duration and Structure

  1. The programme shall consist of 13 course units, consisting of lectures, demonstrations/practicals, field trips and examinations.
  2. A Certificate in Floriculture course unit shall be defined as 10 contact hours of lectures and demonstrations/practicals. Theory will constitute 70% and practicals 30% of the contact hours. The programme shall consist of a total of 130 contact hours.
  3. The programme shall take a minimum of 20 weeks and maximum of 30 weeks.
