Kenyan Passport Application online at eCitizen Portal – Kenya Immigration

The Kenyan Government through the Kenya Immigration Department have legislated that all applicants are required to fill and complete Form 19 (Fill-able online) as the Kenyan Passport application form. The form can be found HERE.

How to apply for a Kenyan Passport for adults

Kenyan adults can apply for, renew or replace their passport and pay online for it at the comfort of your office or house. You can pay using mobile money, Credit and Debit Cards.
You will have to print out a form at the end.
You must sign and date the form, add any documents or photographs that are needed, and return it for processing.

• Read the instructions carefully then fill the application form.
• Select the mode of payment and pay for the passport fees.
• Download and print the application form and three copies of the application Invoice(Receipt).
• Submit the application form in person to the Immigration offices. (Nyayo house, Mombasa & Kisumu)

How long does it take to get a passport?

It should take atleast 15 working days to get your first passport once your form has been physically submitted at the Immigration offices. For all other application types, it should take atleast 5 working days.
It can take longer if more information is needed or your application has not been filled out correctly. All Passport applications should now be made via www.ecitizen.go.ke. Manual applications will NOT be accepted.

Kenyan Passport Application Requirements:

During the physical submission of the forms to the Immigration Offices you need the following:

1. Applicants MUST appear in person for digital photo capture.
2. An eCitizen pre-filled passport application form and three invoices.
3. Original birth certificate and photocopy.
4. Original National ID Card & copy.
5. Three Current passport size photos.
6. Recommenders ID Card copy.
7. Old passport for replacement plus copies of last three pages.
8. Parents National ID cards copies or Death Certificate if deceased.
9. For Lost case a Sworn affidavit and a police abstract are required
10. For Lost cases and Mutilated cases an explanation letter is required to explain the circumstances of the loss or mutilation

• Applications applied on behalf of others will be rejected
• During submission you must come with original documents and photocopies of the same.
